From download to your first sync in under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through installing Cliprift, creating your account, syncing your clipboard, and pairing your mobile device.
Cliprift is a cross-platform clipboard manager that syncs your clipboard history across all your devices. Copy on your Mac, paste on your PC. Copy on your phone, paste on your laptop. Everything is searchable, organized, and optionally encrypted end-to-end.
By the end of this guide, you will have:
Installed Cliprift
On Windows or macOS
Created your account
Email or social sign-in
Synced your first item
Across devices in real time
Paired your mobile device

Cliprift is available for Windows and macOS. The download page automatically detects your platform and offers the correct installer.
Go to the download page
Visit cliprift.com/download and click the download button for your platform.
Run the installer
Windows: Run the .exe installer. If SmartScreen appears, click "More info" then "Run anyway" — Cliprift is code-signed but SmartScreen may still flag new applications.
macOS: Open the .dmg file and drag Cliprift to your Applications folder. On first launch, right-click and select "Open" if macOS Gatekeeper shows a warning.
Launch Cliprift
Cliprift starts in the system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS). You will see the Cliprift icon appear — click it to open the main window.
.exe or .msi.dmg (Intel + Apple Silicon)On first launch, Cliprift will guide you through onboarding. The first step is creating your account — this is what connects your devices and syncs your clipboard history.
Choose your sign-in method
Sign in with your email address, or use Google, GitHub, or Discord for one-click sign-in. All methods create the same account — you can add more sign-in methods later.
Verify your email
If you signed up with email, check your inbox for a verification link. Social sign-in verifies your email automatically.
Complete onboarding
Cliprift walks you through a few setup steps: choosing your theme and configuring the global shortcut. You can change all of these later in Settings.
Free plan included
Every account starts with the Free plan — clipboard syncing across 2 devices, 30 days of history, and 25 snippets. Upgrade to Pro anytime for unlimited devices, history, and advanced features.
Once you are signed in, Cliprift immediately starts monitoring your clipboard. Every time you copy something — text, an image, a file — it appears in your clipboard history and syncs to the cloud.
Copy something to your clipboard
Select any text in a browser, document, or terminal and copy it (Ctrl+C on Windows, ⌘+C on macOS). Screenshots and images work too.
See it in your history
Open the Cliprift window. Your copied item appears at the top of the list with automatic content detection — text, links, code, colors, and images are each displayed with an appropriate preview.
Open Cliprift on another device
Sign in on a second device with the same account. Your clipboard history syncs automatically — the item you just copied will be there, ready to paste.
Cliprift uses push-based sync — when you copy something on one device, it appears on your other devices within seconds. There is no refresh button or manual sync step. If a device was offline, it catches up automatically when it reconnects.
Cliprift is available on iOS and Android. Pairing your mobile device with your desktop is the fastest way to get clipboard sync working across all your devices.
Download the mobile app
Get Cliprift from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Search for "Cliprift" or scan the QR code on the download page.
Sign in with your account
Use the same account you created on desktop. Your clipboard history will start syncing immediately.
Or use QR code pairing
On desktop, go to Settings → Devices → "Pair mobile device." A QR code will appear. Scan it with your phone's camera to sign in instantly — no need to type your credentials.
The fastest way to connect. Open the mobile app, tap "Scan QR Code," and point your camera at the code shown on your desktop. Your devices are linked in seconds.
View and manage all your linked devices from Settings → Devices. You can rename devices, see their last active time, and unlink any device you no longer use.
Device limits
The Free plan supports 2 devices. Pro supports unlimited devices. If you hit the limit, you can unlink an old device from Settings to make room.
